Food Shopping
For general food shopping there are two supermarkets only 5 minutes by car, they are very well stocked and also offer a usually a free delivery service to the villa. You will find a good range of all well- known European goods. If you wish to use the villa washing machine it would be useful to bring with you washing tablets as washing powder is sold in large quantities. Locally made bread is very good and can be bought in many shops.
You will be able to find a good butcher opposite the taxis rank, selling good lamb and steak, in the same area below the taxi rank are several stalls selling fish, fruit & vegetables.
Beaches
Kalkan has a pebbled beach to the left –hand side of the harbour but there are also many other options. There are five beach clubs available around Kalkan, these clubs are rock gardens cut into the hillside offer relaxing sunbathing and swimming in the warm turquoise ocean. Some of them offer water-sports such as snorkelling, scuba diving, windsurfing, diving, sailing, and fishing. The clubs charge a fee, of around £2.75 per day per person for the use of the sun beads and umbrellas. They all have restaurants offering good menus in beautiful settings.
